How to teach the Canterbury Tales

I had a wonderful time today speaking with the graduate student instructors of MDVL 1450, "Heroes and Villains in the Middle Ages," about some practical approaches to teaching Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. I focused on ways to address the issues of alterity and modernity of Chaucer's popular text, including several tech-oriented assignments using web-based applications. We also spoke about neo-medievalisms and the ever-accelerating transformation of the field of medieval studies.
